Sunday was a great day for us as we were able to give to our Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. We received $1,424.00, which is far short of our goal of $4,500.00. We will be receiving this offering up to Easter Sunday, April 8th. If you would like to help touch lives in North America would you prayerfully consider a financial gift for “Annie Armstrong.”
We are delighted to welcome Mrs. Eleanor Hillard to the Ingalls Avenue Church family. She has been attending regularly and has also gotten very active with our senior adults.
Looking ahead I wanted to share with you about our upcoming Family Fellowship and Easter Egg Hunt. On Sunday, April 1, right after the morning worship we will all share in a covered dish meal and then the kids can go out to hunt the eggs. There will be over 1000 eggs for the kids to hunt for, so mark it down, Sunday, April 1st, covered dish luncheon and egg hunt. Even if you don’t have children we want you to bring a dish and stay for lunch. It will be a great time of fellowship. Invite your friends to come and join the fun! By John Turner on January 19, 2012
In just two weeks we are showing the new Christian film “Courageous”. This film is being used by the Lord to make a tremendous impact on men and families. Many of you have received some free tickets to pass along to your friends, co-workers, or neighbors. This movie is packed with a message of challenge to families to be everything they should for Christ. Sometimes we all get misplaced priorities and this film will cause us to re-examine our commitment to what really matters in life.
Pray that we, as a church, will do all we possibly can to fill the sanctuary at 4:00PM and 6:30PM on Sunday, January 29th. God can and wants to use Ingalls Avenue to make a difference in this city. Will you let Him use you to be a part of this difference?
Michael Catt in his book, “Courageous Living” tells a story of a battle where the flag bearer got so far ahead of the regiment that the officer called back to headquarters and asked, “Shall we bring the flag back to the regiment?” The commanding officers said, “No, make the regiment catch up with the flag!!”
He went on to say how that, “Today we need men with hearts of a warrior: men who will run to catch up with the flag Christ carries ahead of us. Men who won’t turn back. Men who stand up and take responsibility for their role as men.”
We need some men and families who will be COURAGEOUS!
In Christ,
Bro. John
