Dear Church Family,
Sunday night was great! It was so refreshing to hear what the Lord has done in and through lives around us, and so many times I believe we forget about the redeeming power of the Savior's blood. I truly hope that all of us have learned from Bro. Rodney's witness last night, and that we will begin to share with anyone who will listen just how great God's love is for us that He made a way for us. It is a shame how easy we forget just what the Lord has saved us from; regardless of your background whether it is squeaky clean or way messed up God has saved us from the same punishment and judgement. I hope that we can learn together to be there for people because just like Bro. John preached Sunday morning, "we never know what burdens people are carrying," and the reality is God may have put you in their path to help them so always be ready to give that account of just what the Lord has done for you.

I began to ask the students this question this past Wednesday when I introduced them to a study called, “The Reason for God.” Tim Keller, a Christian pastor, asks six different people to come to a discussion group to talk through different arguments against Christianity; however, these six people are not professing believers. I decided to start doing this lesson because I believe that it is very important for all of us to be able to do what 1 Cor. 16:13 tells us, “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” So how do we stand firm? I truly believe that we have to searchourselves to see what we believe by ourselves. It is too easy for those of us raised in church to try and piggy back off of what our parents or friends believe but what do we believe? When we try and share the gospel and we truly do not believe the things of God then how can we stand firm in faith if we donot have any? This is a crucial question that I think we need to be ready for at all times because we never know when an opportunity might arise to sharewith someone the wonders of God. (2 Tim. 4:1-5) As you wake up each day thisweek ask yourself what do you believe, and why do you believe that? If you cometo a problem that you are not sure as to why you believe a certain way thencall me or come by and see me. I would love the opportunity to talk thescriptures with any of you or all of you but I can not do that unless you letme know that you would like to. I love you all and hope you have a great week!
